This program provides down payment and closing cost assistance to eligible borrowers through partnerships with lenders across Montana. The program is for people who have good jobs and the ability to repay a loan but have not been able to save for the down payment or closings costs on a home.
Since HomeNow Down Payment is in the form of a gift, borrowers are not required to pay back, thus eliminating second deed or lien restrictions against the property.
Eligible borrowers must:
> Qualify for a 30-year, fixed rate mortgage through FHA, VA, or RD
> Have incomes with the established limits
> Have a 640 + credit score
> Occupy the property as a primary residence (NO manufactured homes)
